Vapour permeability can create significant problems for both optoelectronic devices such as OLEDs, LEDs, flexible screens and optical fibres. The sensitivity of these technologies to moisture and vapour leads to performance degradation, spectral shift issues and even complete failure. Versaperm's advanced measurement solutions are designed to tackle these challenges by providing accurate vapour permeability testing.

Versaperm’s testing equipment’s capabilities extend across a range of challenging environments. Its systems allow for measurements under conditions that include extreme temperatures (-80°C to +1100°C), pressures up to 300 bar and various humidity levels. The equipment is used in manufacturing and QC departments as well as Standard’s testing  laboratories departments globally. Versaperm also offers laboratory testing and consultancy services for companies that only need occasional sample analysis.

Optical fibres are critical for long-distance data transmission and various sensor applications, but they are susceptible to vapour-related issues. Moisture ingress can degrade signal quality, compromise the optical properties and cause shifts in whispering-gallery modes due to water adsorption. Versaperm's equipment offers precision measurements of fibre casings and materials with accuracy levels reaching Parts Per Million (PPM) and even Parts Per Billion (PPB) under certain conditions.

Water vapour and oxygen are detrimental to OLEDs, LEDs, and flexible screens. To mitigate these effects, manufacturers employ multi-layer barrier coatings. These protective layers must be meticulously tested to ensure they effectively prevent vapour damage. Versaperm's instruments are capable of evaluating individual layers, compound structures, and detecting pinholes that may form during manufacturing.
